12x8 sheds are a big enough to offer storage for a wide array of tools and equipment, with ample space for shelving, a workbench, or even tool cabinets.  Alternatively, why not repurpose your shed to create a garden retreat or a hobby room to pursue art and craft activities in?

We also have customers who convert their sheds into a playroom for the children, a home office, a reading snug, and lots more. In fact, if you’d like to explore the alternative uses for garden sheds, please do check out our section on garden shed guides and ideas. Whatever you use your Waltons shed for, our use of only FSC-certified timber, as well as our UK site of manufacture and 10-year anti-rot guarantee, gives you confidence that your new shed is built to last and last.

Choosing a 12x8 garden shed

A 12x8 shed is a good size for any medium-sized garden and makes a great allotment shed, too, offering you plenty of room for your tools as well as somewhere to shelter from the rain or to enjoy a well-earned mug of tea and a biscuit or three. Choose your shed from the comprehensive range of styles available here at Waltons. We offer contemporary pent roofs or airy traditional apex roofs, side or gable elevation doors, and windows where you want them.

Installing a 12x8 garden shed

Before erecting your shed, it's crucial to have a level site with adequate clearance around it to ensure easy access for maintenance and repairs. You'll also require a level base. Depending on the shed's size and your intended purpose for it, this base should be made from wood, paving slabs, or a concrete slab. Heavier use and or storage of heavier items makes a robust foundation even more important. For a 12x8 shed, we recommend patio slabs or concrete – take a look at our guides to building a patio slab base and a concrete base to see what’s involved.
