4m x 4m Log Cabins

This range of 4m x 4m Log Cabins are perfect for any garden. These high quality log cabins come in many different sizes and styles so you can pick one to suit your garden. Our log cabins can be used for almost anything! Our log cabins make great garden offices providing space for a single worker or a group! Our log cabins can also be used as an entertaining room, craft room or even an art studio.

All our log cabins are made from quality tongue and groove timbers. Tongue and groove timbers are specially shaped so when put together they interlock to form a strong, secure and weatherproof building. Tongue and groove cladding is also thick; this helps add extra protection against weather conditions. Our log cabins also feature tongue and groove floors and roofs. This overall tongue and groove construction makes our buildings supremely durable.

A log cabin is easy to build but will require at least 2 people! Our log cabins are delivered in single timber lengths. The specially shaped timber then simply slots together with the aid of a rubber mallet. Our log cabins are supplied with a fixing kit and high quality roofing felt too.

Adding a log cabin to your home is a great way of adding extra space; our log cabins make ideal studies or second living rooms. Adding a brick house extension can cost thousands and requires planning permission too. Most of our log cabins fall under 2.5m high so they do not require planning permission.

Maintaining a Log Cabin

A log cabin is made from a natural material; timber. Here at Walton we only use slow grown, FSC certified pine timber. The wood is grown over a long period of time; this means the wood is denser and stronger than cheaper types of timber. If you do decide to add a log cabin to your garden you will need to maintain it yearly to ensure it stays in tip top conditions. All our buildings come with at least 10 Year Anti Rot Guarantee but you will need to look after your building to ensure this is valid.

Firstly you will need to paint and treat the wood once it is construction and yearly after that. Painting the building with a colour or clear wood treatment will help prevent rot and water damage. The wood treatment seals the wood and helps stop water causing rot. You will need to treat the whole outside of the log cabin so when constructing the log cabins make sure you leave enough access to every side of your building.

You will also need to maintain the roof of your building. Roofing felt is supplied with all our log cabins but this will need to be maintained over the years. Roofing felt stops water from getting into your log cabin. Over the years roofing felt can deteriorate and can lead to leaking. You will need to check all parts of your log cabin roof regularly to ensure you don’t miss any possible leaks.
