I myself am not a keen gardener I have to admit but I do have a garden building to store my household items that seem to just clutter up my house. This Christmas has sparked a New Years Resolution though as one of my Christmas presents was a grow your own chilies. For me there is nothing better than a spicy meal so to grow my own only inspires me to get in the garden and do so. My grow your own chili pack contains a range of chilies including scotch bonnets which are exceptionally hot!!!
After being bought this I am instantly in need of a garden building to carry out my new found hobby. To start with I have brought a propagator which allows me to grow small plants, herbs and vegetables although for larger vegetables such as tomato plants you may need some protection from the wind and rain the weather is enlightening us with at the moment. There are a range of garden buildings to suit everyone’s needs including raised beds for the smaller grow your own options, greenhouses for the avid gardener and potting sheds for the all in one.
I myself prefer the potting shed as it allows me to store all of my garden items but also allow me a specific area where I can grow my chilies and other small vegetables. A window ledge is all you need in the winter months but even then I am stretched to this as I do not have a window ledge large enough in my home.
Greenhouses are the perfect option for gardeners and obviously the most popular choice but what about the people who do not want a large area to grow but a small, neat and convenient area that utilises the space within their garden. Once again the potting shed is the perfect example here.
If potting sheds like greenhouses are too large for your garden or you already have a shed in working order then raised beds are another option and not only allow you to grow your own but make an attractive focal point within your garden. There are a range of raised bed designs so you can choose a style to suit your home and garden plus it can be constructed into a corner of your garden allowing you to section a specific area for gardening or creating an attractive flower display. Three or four raised beds placed around the perimeter of your garden can brighten up your home simply, effectively and inexpensively as raised beds can be bought for under £30.
I will leave you with this for now and hopefully will be able to post some photos of my new found hobby with the progression of my chills!!!!
