Why Choose our Metal Garden Sheds and Metal Storage Sheds
Walton’s offer a wide range of metal shed storage options, from compact roller door storage units, to free standing metal sheds and metal garages.
We stock a range of Walton's metal sheds, and also a selection of Yardmaster Metal Sheds and StoreMore Metal Sheds. For an explanation of the brands of metal sheds available, read our article "Metal Sheds – The Brands Explained".
Metal sheds offer the advantage of being virtually rodent-proof, and more resistant to poor weather conditions than the equivalent wooden sheds. Metal garden sheds offer the option of storing seed and grain without the issue of it being eaten away by rats, mice and termites. In addition to this, our metal storage sheds are fire retardant, giving you peace of mind over the safety of your valuables. As most of our metal sheds come with a 10 year anti-rust penetration guarantee, you can have peace of mind that your metal shed will remain a useful addition to your garden.
Whilst not necessarily as eye-catching as a wooden shed, our metal garden sheds and metal garages are simple to build, meaning you only need to provide a firm, level base on which to stand it. Please see “Preparing Your Garden for a Metal Shed below".
Metal garden sheds are available as either apex metal sheds or with a pent roof, and single and double door metal storage sheds are both available. For storing those smaller garden items, why not view our metal storage range.

Preparing Your Garden for a Metal Shed
A metal shed is great for any time of year as our metal garden sheds are rust resistant.
When it comes to building your metal shed, you need to consider two things - the site of the metal shed and the foundation. These will ensure your garden building remains built for years to come.
Preparation of the Site
Preparing the site of your metal shed is essential. You need to make sure that it is in an area that is clear of trees, garden fences and other obstacles. It also needs to be a level area in which to lay a solid foundation and an area that is free from standing water.
Once the site is level and free from water and other obstructions, you can start thinking about the foundation of your metal shed. It needs to be strong enough to take the weight of a metal shed as well as just slightly larger than your actual shed to make sure there is no overhang.
Metal Shed Foundation
For the foundation you could consider an Eco Base which would be ideal. Lay the Eco Base down and measure to your own needs. Then fill with pea gravel or something similar to provide great drainage and a sturdy base. After the foundation has settled and has been checked for evenness, the metal shed can be placed on top of this and fixed to its foundation.
As it approaches summertime, this could be the perfect time to get your metal shed erected and your garden tidied in time for the warm summer months.
