Waltons T & G modular Pent Garden Storage Unit
We visited several garden centres and a number of specialist outdoor building outlets. We also searched the internet for price comparison and quality purposes before deciding upon , and purchasing the Waltons Pent Garden Storage Shed.
THe ordering was straight forward.
We had necessity to speak to a member of Waltons staff with regard to a specification requirement. Our enquiry was dealt with swiftly , politely and efficiently
The delivery was on time, and we received a call from the driver to let us know his location and expected time he would arrive.
The unit is well made and the assembly was straight forward.
The quality of the unit matches or surpasses many of the similar units we inspected.
I would recommend Waltons as a company to deal with , and I am more than satisfied with the unit we purchased

Garden Storage Shed
This shed is rather like a large exterior wardrobe with the extra end door providing useful additional access. It seemed to be reasonably well made and all the necessary screws and bits for putting it together were provided. Putting it up was quite time consuming as the wood looks to have had minimal treatment pre delivery and inevitably there will be bits which are inaccessable once it is up and in position (lets face it most people will put it against a wall or fence or something), so I wanted to get a couple of coats of stain on those parts before I put it together. I guess if you opted for having it put up you wouldn't get that opportunity.
The floor is fairly flimsy being 9mm Oriented Strand Board on small wooden battens. It flexes significantly as you stand on it so perhaps 15mm would have been better. I was going to put steel shelving inside so was concerned about the point load from the legs, I put some offcuts of 18mm ply I had under each leg. Also the wooden battens under the floor are no better treated than the rest of the shed and given the liklihood of these components rotting, it would have been better if they used pressure treated timber in this location. My shed was going on a bit of patio which doesn't drain well so I put it on a couple of 8" x 2" joists lying horizintally on bricks to get it off the ground.
The doors only have a frame to close against at the top and bottom so there are quite big gaps to either side and between the doors which rain would blow straight into. I fitted some door stop to either side of each door frame and screwed a piece of timber to the back edge of one front door to provide a rebate for the other to close against. This solved the problem but it would be nice if these features were designed in.
Delivery was on the day arranged. Due to the Olympics we had been warned it could come between 7am and 10pm and infact it was already lying on our front lawn when my son got up at 6am, though that wasn't a problem.
Interior dimensions (inside frame) are 70 x 175cm.
So, all in all a useful shape and layout, tall enough to stand up in (I'm 6') and well put together though the detailed design could be significantly improved. However I think it probably represents decent value for the price hence four stars.
