LOVE IT
I reviewed this in August 2012 when it was just erected. Thought you might like to know the latest. Waltons were very helpful about the leaks and offered to replace but we decided we couldn't be bothered to erect another one. Instead we did a bit of filling ourselves and actually I think when the wood was outside in the damper atmosphere the planks swelled to fit better- like a clinker boat. So it has no leaks now. I painted the walls and the floor in cream and decoreted it in a beach hut style with second hand rug and furniture from local charity shop. I LOVE IT and so do our neighbours and passers by. It is erected right beside the beach and it gets a lot of admiring looks. Wish I could show you a picture but this site has no facility for that. We have had many an evening sittiing in it with our pals with candles lit and a bottle of wine watching the moon rise over the sea. It seats 8. It really extends the seasons too when it would ordinarily be too cold to sit outside durig the day. Now I am on a mission to find a very small wood burning stove for it. Looking at a Pipsqueak stove from Salamander.

Good value for money!
We were not expecting this to be a super-high quality product as it is so competitively priced, but it was better than we expected! it took us a while to put together and as noted by another review the middle of the roof is a bit tricky to reach when felting - we used the transit bars to provide additional support inside before venturing onto the roof to nail it down in the middle -
we made a mistake with the felt by cutting the first 3 pices 10cm too long so there was not enough for the last strip - it would have been good to get a warning in the instructions that there is only just enough felt for four strips - we had to buy another roll locally. the doors are a bit sticky but that may be that our raised platform is not 100% level - they do open and close. The lock was faulty but a replacement is on its way. we have used a sealant on the joints before applying the trims and we plan to apply sealant to the windows to make it more weather proof. we are very happy with the end result - it is stylish and unusual.

Nice design but leaky
I liked the design of this summerhouse and the price which was very affordable. We wanted one that wasnt too high because it sits between our house and the sea and didnt want it to obstruct the view too much. I saw others in local shed makers for £1,500 which were better quality but too high. My husband made a deck for it to sit on. I think the secure base will extend the life of the shedbecause it wont be flexing when people move about in it. He erected summerhouse himself. He said the instructions weren't great but he got it up OK. There were a few bits of damage but he fixed these. He used torch on felt on the roof rather then the felt provided bacause we are right by the sea and it will be exposed to wild weather. I painted on the wood treatment provided and then have put on Cuprinol Shades paint. I noted that the wood is quite rough and unfinished in places and there are gaps here and there where the wood doesn't meet or where there are knots in the wood. Husband filled these. It would be possible to put insulation between uprights and cover with tongue and groove planks or plasterboard to make warmer for winter. We will probably eventually replace the styrene windows with glass. Styrene tends to discolour after a while. Husband says this wont be difficult. He sealed round windows with a clear mastic to keep the rain out. I like the inside shape and space. 10 x10 is big enough for six people at lest to sit round comfortably. i will b looking for old fabric covered chairs I think. I am painting it an off white inside which will look more beach hutish I think. This am we inspected it because there was drivin rain and wind last night. There were quite a few places where the rain had come in between the boards. I HOPE we can fill these so that it doesnt get damp inside. If quality is important to you and you are not fixed on this design probably better to spend a bit more.
