We've been trawling through a selection of blogs and websites about garden sheds and gardening to find our own top 10 list of the best ones. It took some time to narrow the list down but we've got there now so all we need is for you guys to vote for your favourite blog or website below. We've written a little bit about each one as well in case you haven't seen them before.
We'll leave the voting open for a few weeks then when we close it we will announce the winner. Happy voting!
1. Reader Sheds - www.readersheds.co.uk
Main resource for Shed of the Year 2009, user participation is great on this website with users allowed to upload their own sheds including pictures and descriptions. Not our favourite in terms of looks as the site looks a little cluttered but no doubt that the content and freshness is great.
2. Shed Blog - www.shedblog.co.uk
The name says it all really! Again a site with great quality content and some great links to videos and funny pictures from time to time. I'm always amazed by the regularly updated content, there are a few posts every day at least.
3. Shedworking - www.shedworking.co.uk
Again the content on this blog is updated a lot and they include a some great images. I prefer the look of Shed Working to some other blogs even though it is a little narrow on my screen. Even so it is a great site with some good content.
4. Garden Shed Hall of Fame - www.gardenshedhalloffame.blogspot.com
A website from across the pond with a lot of content from shed owner in the USA and Canada. Focused mainly on featured posts of users sheds with some cool pictures. Not as frequently updated as some shed blogs but still good content from users.
5. Grows on You - www.growsonyou.com
There is a real sense of community around this website. Users can submit pictures, ask questions or even write their own blog posts. The layout is very clean and there is a great questions section with over 500 pages of questions submitted by users and answered by the experts.
6. Gardening Tips & Ideas - www.gardeningtipsnideas.com
More focused towards general gardening such as growing fruit and vegetables, landscaping and gardening tips and tricks. Its a nice clean looking website and looks like its updated regularly. The site is run by a guy from Australia with a passion for gardening and this really shows through in his blog posts.
7. Marie's Gardening Blog - www.gardening.about.com/b/
I'm sure most of you will have come across about.com at some point online, their gardening blog is maintained by Marie Iannotti who does a great job on there. Again its not focused towards sheds or garden buildings, its more for general gardening tips and hints. The content itself is great and updated every day which is always good to see from any blog.
8. Landscape Juice - www.landscapejuice.com
Yet another blog that is always being updated with good content. The author covers quite a few gardening events such as the Hampton Court Flower Show and the Royal Show. There seems to be an active readership with quite a few blog comments from users as well as a number of really good articles.
9. BBC Gardeners World - www.blog.gardenersworld.co.uk
The official blog from the BBC Gardeners World team. Not surprisingly this is a very popular blog and publishes daily posts from Gardeners World presenters who a lot of you may have heard of. More focused towards tips such as growing plans, wildlife in your garden etc.
10. Shed Style - www.shedstyle.com
Another American based blog from a Los Angeles based author who does a great job on keeping the site updated with some great content and images. Some of the images are excellent and really show off what can be done with a garden. There are also some more standard articles with gardening hints and tips too.
