Description

The Waltons 8ft x 6ft Pressure Treated Shiplap Apex Wooden Shed is a high quality garden building that provides a secure storage space. To offer the best protection from the elements, this garden storage shed has been made from pressure treated timber. The timber has been placed into a vacuum and compacted with a high quality timber preservative to ensure this shed offers many years of service. Featuring a traditional apex roof, this wooden garden building will suit gardens of all styles. Heavy-duty mineral felt is supplied with the wooden garden shed to create a waterproof barrier, to prevent water damage.

This wooden shed has been constructed using 12mm shiplap tongue and groove cladding for a durable build. Shiplap cladding features an interlocking design with an additional lip which prevents water ingress. Thick 2” x 1” interior framing supports the roof, floor and walls for strength and security, keeping the whole shed stable. The floor and roof of this garden shed are made from sturdy solid sheet board, ideal for storing general gardening items. Floor bearers are included with the garden storage shed to support the solid sheet board floor and raises the building from the ground, helping to prevent damp rising up into the timber.

Two shatterproof styrene windows allow natural light to flood into the wooden shed making it easy to see your stored items. Shatterproof styrene glazing is a much safer alternative to traditional glass glazing, suitable for allotments, and gardens with young families and pets. A large single door provides access to the storage shed and features horizontal bracing for support. A turn button is supplied to keep the door closed. As this building has been pressure treated, it will benefit from our 15 year anti-rot guarantee, as well as our standard 1 year manufacturer’s warranty!

Important Information

Our pressure treated sheds come with a 15 year anti rot guarantee* and offer a high level of protection against weather damage, rot, decay and insect attack. For maximum protection, once installed we do advise applying a waterproofing treatment to your garden shed to prevent water ingress and annually thereafter to maintain the 15 year anti-rot guarantee. All our sheds also include a 1 year manufacturer's guarantee* as standard.

Pressure Treated Sheds

Modern pressure treating techniques are environmentally friendly, using water-based treatments.

Pressure treatment is different to externally applied preservatives and top coat treatments. Chemicals are impregnated into the fibres of the wood under pressure. By fixing chemicals into the wood, pressure treating offers protection against insect attack, chemical attack and natural decay. This treatment gives the wood a golden brown colour. The shed should also be treated with a waterproofing topcoat. While the effectiveness of the treatment does not alter without a top coat, the colour does change over time, and that nice brown shade may turn grey.

Our pressure treated sheds are supplied flat packed as DIY kits with full instructions.

It is the customer's responsibility to follow the instructions outlined within the Manufacturers Recommendations.

All of our sheds are delivered unpainted. The sheds are dressed for display, we don't supply any accessories or shelves featured within the product images.

Exact product dimensions are supplied on the listing as we do round off the main size of the building in the title in order to make it easier for customers to find, so please be sure to check the item's specific measurements carefully.

Delivery times highlighted with an asterisk (*) refer to working days.

15 Year Anti-Rot Guarantee

Our Pressure Treated Garden Sheds come with a 15 year anti rot guarantee. Pressure treating is a chemical process which helps to protect wood against rot and insect damage.

In order to keep your shed looking great, it will need re-treating at least annually. Always use a high quality waterproofing topcoat, applied in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. For more information please refer to the Waltons T&C's.

Safety: When handling pressured treated timber, be sure to wear gloves and avoid inhalation of sawdust. Do NOT use in contact with food and drinking water or as animal bedding. Dispose of treated wood responsibly, industrial waste should be disposed of through an authorised waste contactor.

Always wear gloves when handling the parts/assembling the pressure treated shed. Due to chemicals in pressure treated wood, never burn its sawdust or scraps; instead dispose responsibly.

1 Year Manufacturer's Guarantee

Subject to the conditions set out in the T&C's (Section 8) the Seller warrants that the Goods will correspond with their specification at the time of delivery and will be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of 12 months.

Planning Permission

Whilst we work hard to design all of our garden buildings to adhere to planning permission guidelines, we cannot guarantee that planning permission will not be required. Therefore we advise that it is always best to check with your local authorities before erecting a garden building.

Aftercare

We want you to enjoy the use of your new garden shed for many years. To ensure this, it is important your shed is protected at the start and maintained during its life. If you're planning a DIY project, please read our Self-Installation & How to Build a Shed advice pages before you start.

BASE

All long-lasting sheds will have been built on a solid and level base, either concrete, slabs, a wooden frame or ground level bearers. A flat, level base is essential, for more information go to our How to Build a Shed Base guide.

If your shed is not level and square when built, it will twist and warp with the natural movement of the wood. The first signs of this are when the doors or windows stop opening and closing properly. You may get issues with the roof and potential gaps in the panels which will allow water in, there may be flex in the floor and probably creaking. Check your base is level in both directions and adjust prior to the build. It will be really difficult to adjust afterwards.

Glazing

Our styrene windows are protected using a clear film which will need to be removed after you've installed and treated the shed. This can be removed easily by scoring round the edge of the window and peeling back the plastic covering.

All Waltons shed windows are designed to fit well, but over time and with the movement of wood, small gaps can appear. Help to prevent this by sealing your windows with a silicone sealant. You can do this either when you build your shed, or add it to an existing one. We've created this video Protect Your Shed - Silicone Window Sealant for guidance.

We've also created these handy Maintenance Guides to help you make the most out of your shed, for years to come. Should you require any further advice, you can contact our Customer Service Team on 0800 029 1000 and select Option 3.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I choose a delivery slot?

We will contact you on the morning of your confirmed delivery date by email and/or SMS with a 2-hour delivery time slot. We aim to meet these delivery times but during busy periods, deliveries may take a little longer, however we always work hard to keep delays to a minimum.

What access is needed for my delivery?

Our drivers are only contracted to provide kerbside drop offs and deliveries. They will NOT bring any of our orders through your home. A driver may offer to take an order further; for instance a back garden but this is ONLY at their own discretion. If you have added our installation service to your order please be aware that they will require full access to your garden. Our installation team will not bring a building through your home as they are not covered by insurance to enter a customer's home. If you have any questions about access or you live in a restricted access zone please contact our sales team on 0800 029 1000. Our team will be able to provide you with more information and specific building information.

Will I need to help my delivery driver?

Our drivers DO NOT need your help during a delivery. They will not ask for your help and they can manage all the items themselves. We are not insured to cover any customer injuries and therefore we ask you NOT to help or try and help our drivers while they make a delivery.
