7ft x 7ft summer house questions
How to build a wooden base for a summer house
For an 7 x 7 wooden base, you’ll need to clear the site and level the ground before assembling your frame. Place the timbers into a grid pattern with the longer lengths covering the ends of the shorter pieces. Fasten using brackets, and secure to the ground using spikes. If you don’t want to build your own wooden base from scratch, we supply ready-cut wooden bases with all the fixings to fit all the most common shed sizes.
How to decorate a summer house
A summer house that’s well-constructed and in good condition is the perfect blank canvas for creating the outdoor space you always wanted. Choose from a variety of shed decor themes ranging from the country cottage look with rustic furnishings and plenty of floral notes to a simple, minimalistic style using neutral colours to achieve a feeling of peace and space. Alternatively, opt for vintage styling emphasising decor and furnishings that tell stories, or go for a retro vibe that apes bold, witty old-school style.
How to keep a summer house dry
Good maintenance is the key to keeping your summer house dry inside. Inspect your roof, walls and doors on a regular basis, checking for damage and water ingress and fixing any problems promptly. Other things you can do to deter condensation and help drive out damp include insulating the walls and ceiling, ensuring good ventilation, heating and/or dehumidifying, and investing in quality airtight storage containers for any valuable tools and equipment.
