Pressure-treated sheds are built from timber that has been treated with rot and fungus-resisting chemicals which have been forced into the wood under high pressure. This ensures deeper penetration than you get with traditional dip treatment. You’ll still need to apply quality wood treatment on receipt of your new shed, and every year thereafter, but this method of treatment will make your shed last longer. That’s why we can offer a 15-year anti-rot guarantee on our collection of pressure-treated sheds and other garden buildings. Still not sure which shed is right for you? We recommend reading our shed buying guide for all the information you need to make an informed decision.
Choosing a pressure-treated shed
Pressure treatment is a great choice for sheds in exposed locations where the wind and rain are likely to exact a heavier toll. Our pressure-treated units are constructed using the same high-quality FSC-certified timber as all our other sheds and are manufactured at our facility here in the UK, but when buying things like log stores, which are more prone to being bumped and scuffed, the deeper layer of wood treatment affords that little bit of extra protection from mould and rot.
Installing a pressure-treated shed
The prerequisite for erecting any shed is a level site with enough space around it for you to access your shed for maintenance and repairs. You’ll also need a firm, level base. Depending on the size and your intended use for your shed, this can be a wooden, paving slab, or concrete base. The bigger your shed, and the heavier the items you intend to put in it, the more sturdy the base should be.
