Description

This Waltons 14 x 7 Pressure Treated Pent Garden Storage Shed provides a huge amount of storage space, perfect for keeping tools, furniture, and toys safe and secure throughout the year.

This shed has been manufactured using pressure treated timbers which have been infused with preservative to protect them against rot and insect damage for years to come. This also means that it requires significantly less maintenance than a standard shed. The wood used is 12mm thick tongue and groove which locks together to form a solid and robust panel.

This high quality pressure treated shed comes with an OSB roof and floor as standard. You can upgrade to our premier model that includes a full 12mm Tongue and groove roof and floor to create the ultimate high quality workshop.

The shed features two static windows to bring light to your building and are glazed with styrene, a safe, shatterproof alternative to glass. It comes with strong mineral felt as standard as well as a padbolt to keep the large double doors securely closed.

This is all supported by chunky 2 x 1 framing throughout, easily able to support shelving and increase your storage space. The roof and floor of this shed are made from OSB solid sheet board which is hard wearing and perfect for everyday use.

This pent pressure treated shed is ideal for those seeking a large storage area for their garden that has been built to last.

Please Note: The window and door panels of this shed are interchangeable and can be placed on either side during construction.

Important Information

Our pressure treated buildings are protected against weather damage and rot, they come with a 15 year anti rot guarantee*. The building also includes a 1 year manufacturers guarantee* as standard. The styrene windows are protected using a clear film which will need to be removed after you've installed the building.

Pressure Treated Buildings

Modern pressure treating techniques are environmentally friendly, using water-based treatments. However gloves should be worn when handling the parts/assembling the garden building.

Pressure treatment is different to externally applied preservatives and top coat treatments. Chemicals are impregnated into the fibres of the wood under pressure. This is done prior to assembling the building at the factory. By fixing chemicals into the wood, pressure treating offers protection against insect attack, chemical attack and natural decay. This treatment gives the wood a green colour. The building should also be treated with a waterproofing topcoat. While the effectiveness of the treatment does not alter without a top coat, the colour does change over time, and that nice green shade will soon turn grey.

  • Our buildings are supplied flat packed as DIY kits with full instructions.
  • It is the customer's responsibility to follow the instructions outlined in Aftercare.
  • All of our buildings are delivered unpainted. The buildings are dressed for display, we don't supply any accessories or shelves featured within the product images.
  • Exact product dimensions are supplied on the listing as we do round off the main size of the building in order to make it easier for customers to find, so please be sure to check the item's specific measurements carefully.
  • All measurements refer to the exterior of the building which includes the roof overhang unless stated otherwise.
  • Our styrene windows are protected using a clear film which will need to be removed after you've installed the building.
  • We recommend against arranging for a third party to install the building before it's been delivered and checked that all parts are present, as we cannot be held liable for any third party costs.
  • Delivery times highlighted with an asterisk (*) refer to working days.

15 Year Anti-Rot Guarantee

Our Pressure Treated Garden Buildings come with a 15 year anti rot guarantee. Pressure treating is a chemical process which helps to protect wood against rot and insect damage. There are many different treatment solutions, the most common chemicals used to pressure treat wood are Alkaline Copper Quaternary (ACQ), Copper Azole (CA), and Micronized Copper Quaternary (MCQ).

Safety: Always wear gloves, eye protection and a dust mask when handling wood. Due to chemicals in pressure treated wood, never burn its sawdust or scraps; instead dispose in a landfill.

In order to keep your building looking great, it will need re-treating at least annually. Always use a high quality waterproofing topcoat, applied in accordance with the the manufacturer's instructions. If left untreated the colour will fade from green to silvery grey in approximately 6 months. For more information please refer to the Waltons T&C's.

1 Year Manufacturer's Guarantee

Subject to the conditions set out in the T&C's (Section 8) the Seller warrants that the Goods will correspond with their specification at the time of delivery and will be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of 12 months.

Aftercare

We want you to enjoy the use of your new garden building for many years. To give you the best chance of doing so, your product needs protecting at the start and maintained during its life. If you're planning a DIY project, please read our Self-Installation & How to Build a Shed advice pages before you start.

BASE

All long-lasting garden buildings will have been built on a solid and level base, either concrete, slabs, a wooden frame or ground level bearers. A flat, level base is essential, for more information go to our How to Build a Shed Base guide.

If your garden building is not level and square when built, it will twist and warp with the natural movement of the wood. The first signs of this are when the doors or windows stop opening and closing properly. You may get issues with the roof and potential gaps in the panels which will allow water in, there may be flex in the floor and probably creaking. Check your base is level in both directions and adjust prior to the build. It will be really difficult to adjust afterwards.

GLAZING

Our styrene windows are protected using a clear film which will need to be removed after you've installed the building.

All Waltons shed windows are designed to fit well, but over time and with the movement of wood, small gaps can appear. Help to prevent this by sealing your windows with a silicone sealant. You can do this either when you build your shed, or add it to an existing one. We've created this video Protect Your Shed - Silicone Window Sealant for guidance.

We've also created these handy Maintenance Guides to help you make the most out of your building, for years to come. Should you require any further advice, you can contact our Customer Service Team on 0800 029 1000 and select Option 3.
